My job is basically done with refractory clay (stoneware fired Xamot between 1200 and 1300°C) ideal for developing hand-shaped pieces. Most parts have two cooking (some three), the first call cake, made to 800ºC and it gives the minimum to be glazed consistency. For color, barium glazes and slips (white clay) colored with metal oxides applied pincell or gun, depending on the finish.

Finally, I make the final cooking of the pieces at 1200°C with gas furnace and reduction (low-oxygen flame.)
